IS POLICE BRUTALITY EXAGGERATED IN THE MEDIA?

A Conservative Perspective

In older times, black people voices were completely unheard due to segregation and suppression. However, with the increased visibility of black lives media recently, some Officers and Conservative Government Officials believe that Police Brutality is rather over-exaggerated to the point where you can believe there are mass police shootings everyday(Fox News).

But to say an issue is over exaggerated implies that the issue should not be relevant. In truth, there are police shootings everyday. 3 people are killed by cops every day and every 1.5 days, a police officer kills an unarmed man. Although those aren't mass shootings, losing any number of lives should become a relevant topic that needs help.

In addition, not much has been done about Police Brutality itself. Media websites covering police brutality cases is something that has helped the victims of police brutality get their story across, however, the most important thing is what is done about the story. Every year, we hear about hundreds of police killings, but what has been done about it?. For the abolition of Police Brutality, there has to be 0 unarmed people shot, however, real statistics say that each year there are about 900-1000 deaths but that is considering that some of these men were armed and involved in wrongdoings.

Each year, the statistics for innocent unarmed deaths are around 80-120 each year. What’s interesting about these facts are that each year those statistics are fluctuating, meaning that those numbers can go up or down each year, proving that not much has been done towards the abolition of Police Brutality.
